The Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE), released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis, measures changes in the prices of goods and services purchased by consumers in the United States. The quarterly data is released within the broader Gross Domestic Product (GDP) report. The PCE Price Index is the Federal Reserve’s (Fed) preferred gauge of inflation. The QoQ reading compares the prices of goods in the reference quarter to the previous quarter. Generally, a high reading is bullish for the US Dollar (USD), while a low reading is bearish.
